I joined the group in September, 2023. My research interest lies in developing solid phase synthesis methods for artificial collagen mimics as well as peptides. Apart from Science, I have interests in music, travelling, reading novels etc.

I joined this group as Int PhD student in June, 2022. My research interest primarily deals with synthesis and stabilization of collagen mimetics through different non covalent interactions. Apart from science, I am more into literature, movies, sports and memes.

Abdul Suleman
I joined the BKS Lab in August 2024. My research interests lie in both organic chemistry and material science, specifically in peptoids and bio inspired materials. . Outside of academics, I enjoy painting, playing chess, practicing mixed martial arts, writing poetry, and reading fiction.

Bipasha Chaki
I joined here as a PhD student in August 2024. My research focuses on peptide and peptoid chemistry, with particular emphasis on peptide synthesis, and secondary-structure analysis. I find comfort in good food, get lost in the melodies of the sitar, and escape into movies when the real world feels a little too loud.

Amar Ghosh
I completed my Ph.D. in Computational chemistry from Central University of Gujrat (CUG). Then I joined this group at JNCASR as a postdoc in September 2023. Now, I am studying the structural insight of peptidomimetics through computational approaches and bioinformatics. In my free time, I like to read books, watch movies and listen to music.

Jugal Kishore Rai Deka
I joined this group at SNU as a PhD student in August 2017. After completing my PhD, I joined this group at JNCASR as a postdoc in March 2025. Currently, I am studying insulin modification with the conformational properties of biologically active mono- and diacylhydrazines.

I obtained my MSc degree in chemistry from the University of Mysore, Karnataka. I joined the group as a PGDMS student in August 2026. My interest lies in the labelling of peptides and proteins, as well as in studying their conformational and structural changes. Outside of academia, I enjoy reading books, doodling, trying my hand at growing plants , and enjoying music whenever I get the chance.

Jyotshna Phukan (NPDF Fellow)
I completed my Ph.D. in CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat in December, 2023 and then I joined this group as a SERB-NPDF in April, 2024. My research work focused on the development of new conjugation methods for fast and selective labelling of proteins and protein modification.

I obtained my Ph.D. from SNU under the supervision of Dr. B. K. Sarma and then joined in this group at JNCASR as a postdoc in a SERB funded project. My research interests include understanding the various aspects of carbonyl-carbonyl noncovalent interactions.

Gautam Achar (NPDF Fellow)
I joined the lab at JNCASR as NPDF fellow in the project focusing on designing fluorescent molecular rotors for the detection of brain proteins.
