Debajit Kalita

I was born and raised in Pathsala, a small town in Assam. I obtained my BSc from B. Borooah College, Gauhati University and MSc from the University of Hyderabad. I joined the group as a PhD student in September 2020. I am interested in peptide and protein chemical biology. Besides academia, my other interests include playing cricket, cooking traditional Assamese dishes, and visiting new places.

Paramesh Das

I am from Burdwan, West Bengal. I did my BSc from Presidency University, Kolkata and MSc from IIT Kharagpur. I joined this group in September 2020. My research interest lies in the understanding of polyproline helices (PPI & PPII) stability. Besides doing chemistry I love to watch cricket and travelling to mountains.

Debashree Borah

I am from a historic place in Assam called Sivasagar. I did my graduation in Cotton University and completed my postgraduation from University of Hyderabad. I joined the group in September, 2021. My research interest lies in designing PPII helical inhibitors. Besides having interest in science, I like to cook, play badminton, listening music and always love to be surrounded by nature.

Anshu Lata

I was born and brought up in Alwar, Rajasthan. I completed my BSc from Rajasthan University, Jaipur and MSc from the IIT Madras. I joined the group in September, 2021. My research interests lie in developing fluorescent probes to sense MAO activity in the brain. Besides chemistry I enjoy cooking and travelling to new places.

Samprete Bhattacharyya

I was born and brought up in Kolkata. I did my BSc and MSc from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. I then joined this group as a PhD student in August 2022. My research interest primarily deals with building molecular switches using peptide backbone. Besides academia, my other interests include painting, dancing and listening to music.

Kishmita Kalita

Aritra Naha

I am from the city of joy Kolkata. I did my bachelors from Presidency University then I joined this group as Int PhD student in june, 2022. My research interest primarily deals with synthesis and stabilization of collagen mimetics through halogen bonding. Apart from science, I am more into literature, movies, sports and memes.

Kalpita Baruah

I am from Jorhat, Assam. I did my BSc and MSc in chemistry from Cotton College, Gauhati University, Assam and Delhi University, respectively. I joined the group at SNU as a Ph.D. student in August 2017 and since then I have been working towards the understanding of the conformational properties of azapeptidomimetics. After that I joined the group at JNCASR as a postdoc in March 2022. In my free time, I like to read books of all genres, love to travel to new places and craft new things.

Amar Ghosh

I am from Mayapur, West Bengal. I did my BSc and MSc in chemistry from WBSU and CUG respectively. I completed my Ph.D. in Computational chemistry from Central University of Gujrat (CUG), July 2023. I joined this group at JNCASR as a postdoc in September 2023. Now, I am studying the structural insight of peptidomimetics through computational approaches and bioinformatics. In my free time, I like to read books, watch movies and listen to music.

Jugal Kishore Rai Deka

I joined this group at SNU as a PhD student in August 2017. After completing my PhD, I joined this group at JNCASR as a postdoc in September 2021. Currently, I am studying the conformational properties of biologically active mono- and diacylhydrazines.

Biswajit Sahariah

I obtained my Ph.D. from SNU under the supervision of Dr. B. K. Sarma and then joined in this group at JNCASR as a postdoc in a SERB funded project. My research interests include understanding the various aspects of carbonyl-carbonyl noncovalent interactions.

Current Position - Post Doctoral Fellow at IAMS, Taipei, Taiwan (Prof Jer-Lai Kuo)

Gautam Achar (NPDF Fellow)

I completed my PhD in Budagumpi's lab at Jain University. Then I joined Dr. Sarma's lab at JNCASR as NPDF fellow in the project focusing on designing fluorescent molecular rotors for the detection of brain proteins.

Current Position - Research Scientist in Jubilant Biosys, Delhi

Abdur Rahim

Abdur joined the group at Shiv Nadar University in December 2014. His thesis contains understanding various aspects of carbonyl to carbonyl noncovalent interactions.

Current Position - Post Doctoral fellow at SUNY Buffalo, USA. (Prof Lin)

Surya Pravo Mookerjee

I grew up in the city of joy Kolkata in West Bengal. I graduated with a BSc Hons in Chemistry from Presidency University, Kolkata. After that, I joined as MS student in this group in May 2021.
